Tips for trouble-free children’s vision – part 3

1. Avoid eye rubbing!

Children frequently rub their eyes. Rubbing can scrape the cornea and spread bacteria from the child’s hands to the eyes, causing infection. This may also be a symptom of astigmatism or hypermetropia, so it is a good idea to have an eye test.

2. Have your child’s eyes examined regularly!

During the school years, your child’s vision will change often. Regular eye exams can aid in the detection of eye problems. Make sure your child has an up-to-date prescription for their glasses.
